Two Guys Garage - Hypertech = 120HP gain????? You know the machanic guys on TV - Sam and Dave.
They were tuning Sam's new GM 6L deisel truck with a Hypertech handheld tuner and they claim to have improved HP by 120 and tork by 85. This was on a dyno measuring RWHP.
Is this total crap or what?
At 540 footpounds I'm going to swap my Gen 3 gas turd for a Hypertech tuned GM 6L deseil!!!!

I sell the superchips programmer and you can get them for 100 horse bumps in the diesels, i dont know about the hypertech but they are pretty amazing when it comes to the amount of power you can get out of them with a retune.
Re: Two Guys Garage - Hypertech = 120HP gain????? Its true guys! Ive got a 2002 2500 HD, extended cab 4X4, with the diesel and 5 speed allison. I but one of the new Preditors on it which is suppose to add 100 horse. Wouldnt you know my almost 7000lb truck ran a 8.99 in the 1/8 at 74 mph.

Re: Two Guys Garage - Hypertech = 120HP gain????? Its not all boost related. Diesel engines are nothing like gas ones. The more fuel you inject into a diesel, the more power it makes. Richening up the fuel mixture adds power...and can add a lot...up to a certain point. Also just changing when the fuel is injected is worth a lot of power. Diesels have no throttle body plate. The only thing that controls engine speed is the amount of fuel being injected. I've seen stock motored Duramaxes dyno over 1200 rwtq with the stock turbocharger. The hypertech and Predator is just a fart in the wind compared to the Hot Juice box. For more info visit http://www.thedieselpage.com
