Non LSx KR problem My Dad's Impala has been getting crap for MPG. Do a scan and it seems to be running pretty lean at spots and getting KR. WOT instead of the NB voltage jumping up and holding steady; it falls to 40-50 mv range. When this happens as much as 10* of timing is being pulled. Then it will jump up to 700+ mv for a thought and KR eases off, and then same thing, reading falls and KR comes back. Any help is greatly appreciated. 3.4 V6 by the way.
I swapped a 3.4 Impala motor into my '95 Olds, along with the PCM and harness. I have modified the program with a tuner, and have scanned it extensively. The O2 sensor voltage always holds steady for me at WOT, never had a dip even during shifts. Given the mileage, I would replace the O2 anyway (it usually won't throw a code unless it's WAY off, and acting up during part throttle driving too).
Id look at fuel pressure durring the run, It sounds like a crapped out fuel filter or main pump going bad. The lean condition is making it get to hot in the cly and makeing it knock.
