Default ? About 8.1l Torque Management System

I FOUND THIS ON STREET AND PERFORMANCE AND I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME.

"You might want to talk to whoever is doing your PCM programming. When
I first started driving the truck, it was a tire-spinning monster. The more
miles I put on it, the less power it seems to have. I believe that the OEM
programmed “Torque management” is coming in an limiting its potential. I
am looking into having some if not all of it removed. I live at 7200 feet
elevation and probably cannot achieve full engine output ratings, even
with all of the Torque Management removed. If you live closer to sea level,
you run the chance of damaging the power train. My research has found
that GM puts this in to help protect the power train from damage and
abuse. They retard the timing at shifts and possibly pull fuel from the
engine so it can only produce the power they feel is safe. Good idea for
the public, but I want more!!"

IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET RID OF THE TORQUE MANAGEMENT OR IS IT A MUST? I CURRENTLY HAVE HP TUNERS BUT I AM NEW TO TUNING AND DON'T WANT TO SCREW ANYTHING UP. THANKS IN ADVANCE
DAVE

If HPT gives you access to the TCM, you can go in there and potentially disable the signal from the trans to engine (the one says I'm shifting - pull timing)

Hope this helps, this is how I've disabled Tq Mgmnt with EFIlive on the 8.1s with the Allison.

You might not want to completely eliminate it. That Allison trannsmission is not the strongest thing out there. GM had them cheapened up (especially the newer ones) compared to the Allison industrial stuff that is fairly strong.
But, neither is the 4L60E, and removing TM from those is a common deal. The LS cars I have tuned, really came around once it was disabled.
TransGo makes a nice shift kit for the Allison trans.
