A/F for idle and WOT
A/F for idle and WOT Hey guys, I figure this is as good as a place to post as any so here goes.
Just finished up swapping a '05 LQ4 into my 88 Monte SS. Motor is basically stock with a small 216/226 112 Comp Cam and LS6 springs. I'm running an Edelbrock Victor Jr single plane intake, Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb, and MSD 6010 ignition. I also have 1 3/4" long tubes, 2.5" xpipe and no cats. I have a Vigilante 4000 stall in front of a built 2004r and a 4.10 posi rear. Car runs great, starts right up, no issues.
Now I'm heading to the track in August and wanna tune it as best as I can before I get there. I have an LM1 wideband. I'm wondering what a good A/F ratio would be for idle? I'm figuring about 14.2 for idle, 14.7-14.9 for cruise. Now for WOT I've heard everything from 12.7 to 13.5. Whats a good number to shoot for? 12.8?
Also, with regard to timing, I have max timing at 28* from 3000-6700. I have 17* at idle. Am I in the ballpark?

Idle A/F and Cruise A/F can be anywhere from 14.7 to 16, doesnt hurt a thing because there is no load on the motor, as far as WOT, Carbed motors like in the upper 13's A/F, 13.3 ect but of course density via altitude make a difference, Make a run, log your MPH not ET and adjust accordingly...
