Default BigStuff3 experts - upgrade for 58x?

My LS1 broke a rod bolt and grenaded at a track day last week, and I'm thinking of replacing it with an LS3 crate motor and selling my top end parts. But I'm using a Big Stuff 3 controller, and I don't know if that can be configured or upgraded to control a Gen IV 58x reluctor motor. My BS3 dealer (Wheel to Wheel) is now defunct. Any BS3 experts here know the answer?

You change the sensor and change the pickup from 24 to 58 in the configuration.

I think you need the firmware upgraded to do it, call or e-mail John at BS3, or maybe PM Kurt from W2W (427) and ask him.

You can also just use a 24x wheel on the crank, thats what I did, but if you are buying a crate engine cheapest thing to do is update the box. In the configuration they give the options for the tooth count but I dont think that works on LS specific boxes. Best to call and see..

Yeah, I've emailed and left a phone message, they just haven't gotten back to me yet, and I thought someone here would know.

I did get hold of Big Stuff yesterday. The BS3 does require a firmware upgrade to support 58x, but they prefer you to use a 24x, since that creates fewer interrupts for the ECU to service, leaving more processing time for the rest of ECU functions.

Fortunately, Scoggin Dickey charges a very minimal fee to swap the reluctor wheel on new crate motors you order from them, so I'm getting my new 24x LS3 crate motor early next week
