Default OBD2 to Laptop USB or Serial Connector

Hi, My son has a Predator hand held. Would I be able to connect it up, use a serial cable plugged into the bottom of it, once it's connected to the OBD2 port. To connect it up to my lap-top to get a real time. Or is there a cable I should get, or diagrams to make one myself. USB or Serial. Dave

Buy a name brand USB to Serial convertor and you should be O.K. There are a limited number of chipsets out there that everyone uses. A name brand will make your chances much better.
Assuming, of course, that you have the software to read the Predator with your PC.

Any standard USB to serial converter is all that you will need.

As for PC software, assuming the tool is on the latest revision/hardware, you can download Dataviewer to access real time data through the tool.
