Fuel Gauge Fix / PCM Change?
Fuel Gauge Fix / PCM Change? This is what I got. 97 Corvette with a LS7 Crate Engine installed 2 yrs. 2 weeks ago we Changed to 99 PCM with 02 OS. Fuel gauge seems to work at times, but is on empty right now with a full tank. Never had a problem before PCM change. I read a fix for this, but can't find it now. Thanks for any help.

If I understand correctly, the fuel gauge has never worked after the computer swap?
If the fuel gauge has worked intermittently post computer swap, then most likely it is the sending units, C5's have notorious problems with them. Some say Chevron with Techron can fix it, but the best bet is to replace them

Never had a problem until the Computer Swap. I have had this car for 11 yrs and no problems with the sending unit. I have changed the fuel pump a couple of times. In EFILIVE their is some adjustments for fuel sending unit, but I don't know how it works. I will change the sending unit if it needs to be changed.

Im not quite sure without double checking the schematics between both years but the fuel level senders route through the pcm and its a possibilty that there is a pinout difference between the 97-98 pcms and the 99+. I can check later today and see if thats the case, if it is all that it requires is moving one or two wires into different spots on the pcm connector. Ill let you know by 5 pm pst.
you have to do a full repin to put a 99+ pcm in a 98 car.
You also need to do a segment swap in the pcm to make a f-car fuel gauge work after the 98 to 99+ swap, I am unsure about the y/C5 platform.
