I have had no problems at all with my car untill lastnight. I hop in my car, turn the key (everything looks fine) then it doesn't crank, AT ALL. I cleaned the battery terminals, checked the pressure switch for the clutch, even tried to push start it, nothing helped. I am getting plenty of volts, everything else seems fine.
The only thing me and my buddy can come up with is the computer is blocking the ignition system for some reason. two things I can think of:
Something simple like some sensor has gone out and is telling the computer the engine is screwed up
something tripped my factory alarm and it has cut off the ignition system.
any clues or what I could do to figure out what's wrong???
I know a OBD II won't work cuz my car won't start.
thanks.

It could be the pass key system malfunctioned this happened on my '94 Z28. When the pass key went out everything worked just fine but when you turned the key to start the secruity light would flash. Replaced the it and the car started just fine. Good luck

well, I took it to my buddy at a GM dealer. It was the ignition switch. The tech said if u use tilt alot (I do) then it will eventually rub the wires thru like mine did. I'm glad I've got a buddy that's a asst. manager......dealers cost

Just to note, PCM doesn't control the cranking. That's on a seperate circuit all together. So if you car won't crank at all yet you have power, something is wrong with your key ingnition to starter setup.
