Do u need to drill the TB with a cam on a C5? I have a 02 Z06 and have a CC 228/230 .571/.573 112 cam in my car. Cold start up and hot start up are fine after extensive tuning help from this forum( NoGo, Cal and many others). Now my prob is with the AC on the car starts but searches for a idle then after a bit finds the idle which is set to 950 with AC on. Now I know f-bods have a hole in their TB and many have told me they had to drill a hole in their C5's TB as well. Is the hole needed? Also i find the car idles rougher with the AC and smoother with it off-the off AC rpm is 900. Everything else seems to be fine-just trying to get it near perfect as possible. Thanks.
Re: Do u need to drill the TB with a cam on a C5? My SS does pretty good with the A/C on now. I set the idle to 950 for both A/C on and off. It also seemed to help mine a lot to max out the Throttle Follower Decay for the lower speeds like 14 mph and less. I did this to both tables (P/N and In Gear.) A little more idle timing may help also; I have 5 degrees which you can't get away with without doing the decay change. I also have a 0.250" hole in the TB, but I've been told this is a no-no if you have the Vette throttle by wire system. In this case your can do the same thing with LS1edit I believe, but I have no experiance doing that.
