Need some help w/smog tune.. PLEASE I'm having trouble passing CA smog and I was hoping some one might give me some ideas on what to do..
99 Z28 auto
mods:
MAC mids
OBD2 hi-flow Cats
Lid CAI
80mm TB
screen removed MAF
I have a guy that will over look the visuals but I cant get it to pass through the pipe. I have a predator 2 programmer and I pre-tested the car with the factory tune and failed in the 15mph range but passed in the 25mph range
The only area that I did fail was the HC
15MPH meas 59/Max51
25MPH meas 34/ max35 ( barely passed)
I tried to retard the timing a little (3%) but the numbers got worse.. If anyone can help that would be great! I know I have limited tunning abilities with my Preditor but Im trying to avoid putting the stock exhaust back on..

Being in Cali, they are most likely testing for HC, CO, CO2, and NOX. Running it leaner will most likely drive up the NOX.
You may wanna try increasing the timing a couple degrees. Or, there's some additives out there that will bring it down.

Just passed!
I checked my K&N air filter and it was caked. So I put in a new fram and cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner and she passed by a kunt hair.. My K&N got dirty quicker then I thought..
