Washing Car=Check Engine Light On I can now say for certain that my check engine light doesnt just coencidentatlly(sp) come on after washing the car..Ive noticed this for about the last 5 or 6 washes.. I have scanned the codes once before and the 02 sensors seem to be the culprit..But the weird thing is that the error code will go away after about 120 or so miles
You wanna list the code it is giving you? You may have a bare wire/connection that is getting damp due to the addition of water. Check you connections. Disconnect and reconnect them. Pull the PCM fuse to reset all codes. See if does it again (Wash, Rinse, Re-peat) until you track it down.
After reading again I still think your connections are getting wet. Disconnect/Re-Connect. Mine used to do this when it rained out. For the future...
If your soon to get yourself a header mod : Get someone to give you a rear O2 delete with a tuner ($75-$100). Then replace the front o2's with Bosch 13111's (New Vette o2's) which are longer than stock so when you put in headers they will reach the o2 bung.
