Default Silly question? Using E38 ecm without the VVT cam ok?

I was driving home tonight and going over the specs in my head on my L92 buildup. I've got the L92 longblock, with the harness and the ECM, all out of an 07 Escalade. I plan on swapping the cam out. Can I just eliminate the VVT out of the factory programming, or do I need to use a different ECM altogether?

thanks!!

It's not VVT. It's called DOD (displacement on Demand). It simply shuts down 4 cylinders all together. ie no fuel. I'd say it's pretty simple to tune it out.

You can turn off anything in the tune you dont want. If it is the 6.2L then yes you can mess with cam phase all you want if you leave in the stuff. If you dont want it, then just set the cam phaser at 0 and blank out the cam posisiton tables and delete codes.

Thanks wait4me! Benner, it doesn't have DoD, only VVT.
