Its the emblem Pontiac used on the First Generation Firebirds. When the Second Gens were introduced they used a different Bird Emblem/Decal than the 67-69 models. Then in 1973 when the "Screamin' Chicken" became on option, it became so popular they splatted them all over the cars, until, well, 2002 when they stopped producing the Firebird.

If you're asking what the philisophical "meaning" of the symbol is, I suppose your guess is as good as mine. LOL

I just wondered if it was somthing special or did Pontiac put it on all 68's. I dont remember seeing any on the 67 or 69. 67 has the vent window, so nowhere to put it and havn't seen enough 69's to pay attention.

it represents the phoenix.....the bird that dies, then is reborn from the burning ashes of itself....hence 'firebird'.

it was never put on any window glass from the factory. someone must have put it on, either as a sticker or etched.
