Default Blinker and light issue

I have a 98 trans am and my right blinker doesnt work and on the dash its just a solid light. Also my amber light underneath isnt working at all and when i turn on the blinker my tail light is solid. Just thought I would check and see if someone may have had this problem before I go buying different things that dont fix it. Is it just the bulb?

Thanks

Sounds like a bulb or socket issue. When you replace the bulb, check the bulb socket as they are prone to getting moisture and corroded. If it is corroded, the bulb may still be good and it may be a socket issue, pretty common.

A solid indicator light on the dash is usually the sign of a burnt out bulb. As mentioned, the DRL sockets are known for going bad. The good news is they are no longer a dealer only $60.00 part. You can get replacements at AutoZone for around $7.00 each.

I agree with the above mentioned advice. I had a similar issue on my 96, it turned out to be the bulb socket that kept going out, it had a small amount of corrosion and it would intermitently screw with the brake light and the turn signal. I put a new $9.00 bulb socket in and no more issue with brake and turn signals.

I had the EXACT same issue. I had a corroded socket and a burnt out bulb. Then when I was done I drilled a hole in the housing that holds the light which I'm not sure what you call it haha, but I did that so the water could drain out of there easily when it rains.

On my first T/A I went through many bulbs and both front sockets before replacing the housings themselves. On my new T/A I replaced both housings when the first bulb blew. Not only do they look better than the old faded stockers, no more failed turn signal bulbs!
