My guess would be that the pass lock wires are on their last few strands and ready to leave you in your parking spot any day now .......,some one else feel free to give their $.02

Try cleaning your ignition cylinder, usually this will clear up any issues. If that doesnt work you can bypass the whole passlock system with a few radioshack purchased resistors.

First try cleaning your ignition first, though.

What is the proper way to clean the ignition cylinder?

A new vats ignition lock kit may do the fix. On ebay. Could be something simpler though.

Go at it with some electronic cleaner any parts store will have some on the shelf...probably CRC brand it will say electronic cleaner on the can.

Spray it directly into your cylinder liberally. What you are cleaning are the contacts within the cylinder that read the little resistor "chip" in your key.

Once you clean it and you find that it doesnt work then you have 2 choices...replace the ignition cylinder or perform the pass lock bypass, but first try cleaning it and report back.
