Default 145 alternator

I know there is as thread covering this already but I couldn't find a direct link for one other than people suggesting eBay or lkq. Just curious if anyone with knowledge on the swap if this is the correct part? And if not, can u post the right link. Idc if its AutoZone or Napa or whatever

looks right, basically it's any chevy 145 amp truck alternator from 2000-2005, after 2005 they changed to the different PCM controlled alternator thats a 2 pin plug instead of the 4 pin plug, but watch out and make sure the one you select specifically states it 145 amp.

edit: if you look at the specs on each alt, they need to be the 145 amp and Alternator Diameter of 144mm which half of the ones in that list aren't.

I got mine from Napa. It was from an 03 Escalade w/ 5.3L. You'll need a larger serpentine belt too.

I read that the pulley size was the same and you can use the factory belt

Ok well the belt and pulley match up fine... but now here's another issue I might have

I posted in the thread a few times but nobody has been on in a while so I figure I just stay a new thread since in the 6 pages I read through I didn't see anyone even ask this.

Ok so might have ran into a problem.I'm hoping it's something easy to solve though. I have 98 trans am and I'm doing the alternator upgrade. Mine is from an 04 escalade. Anyways I was also replacing the connector with the same part referenced in this thread

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/1287967-fix-my-endless-alternator-failure-s.html

Anyways as I was about to splice the wire to connect the new one I noticed a possible problem. My new connector has 4 wires, my stock only has one. Do I only splice the one connector and pull the other 3 or what? I really don't want to reuse the same connector as you can see it's pretty thrashed

Old connector with only one wire going into the connector
