i did it in my previous car without touching anything besides the pulley and bearing, it was not fun even with the right tools (which are an absolute must).
If you consider your time worth much, i might suggest just getting the system evacuated and putting a new compressor on.

I soaked the clutch in lubricating spray and let it sit all night. Silenced it up until I can decide to either fix it right or pull the A/C during my Turbo build. Just make sure you don't get it on the belts....
Not a fix but a bandaid. To fix it right you'll usually have to pull it off the compressor so its easier replacing the whole unit.
