A bit about my ride:
95 TransAm, A4.
Here is the issue: The stupid vibration.
Let me try and describe the sound: from soft to loud- vroooOOM....vroooOOM.....vrooOOM, only at 65 mph + and the frequency or hertz increase with speed (not exponentially, but linear). No shaking, just a vibration felt in the shifter and steering wheel with the associated and loosely described sound.
There is a TON of people complaining, but not a lot of people return to detail the way they fixed it or if they did at all.
Here is what I have done: New Aluminum DS. New U Joints. New motor mounts. (Waiting on the Tmounts). 4 new tires on 4 new rims.
There is a little rotational slack in the rear end, maybe 10*/15* movement. Free movement then sudden *CLANK* stop, all by hand. Not too much worried as I am dropping it off at the shop to have new 3.73s installed after a rebuild.
Any thoughts?
Typically the entire balancer comes off once bolt is removed.
As far as the vibration goes, I'm getting something similar on my 68 Firebird. I haven't ruled out a bent axle...
Do you have the factory wheels.
part of my issue was switching wheels to a non hubcentric designe so I needed some hub rings to center the wheel on the hub. and Just for ***** and giggles have you checked you driveshaft angles?
