Default Trans am problems

Hi i am new to this forum but i was wondering if I could get some help w my 79 trans am. I bought it about 3 months ago and rebuilt the tranny and put in a new torque converter. Then it didnt even make it home from the shop. I drove it about 15 min on the highway and then the 2nd red light off the highway it started sputtering and wanted to stall. I kept gassing it to make sure it wouldnt but it only made it about another mile or so before it died. Anybody able to give me some pointers on what couod be the problem? Its the 400 engine if that helps

Vacuum leak, ignition out of tune or failing, carb due for a rebuild. Could be a dozen other things but those are the first things I think of.

Sounds like carb issues. Make sure your choke isn't closing when it gets hot, that would give you those symptoms.
