2000 Formula Firebird

Welcome to the site!
The WS9 option is the conversion of the vehicle to the Formula model. There are lots of sites where you can look up these RPO codes and they will list that one, also. Everyone with a Formula should have a WS9 on the door sticker.

2000 Formula Firebird
Have read a lot about options. I am searching for info on our Formula Firebird. It is a WS-9 0ption package. So far i know it has fiberglass doors, front fenders and what appears to be a standard Firebird steel hood. Any help in figuring how they optioned this car new is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jonathan

The Service Parts Indentification label located on the drivers side door will provide all the information that you are seeking...WS-9 .....Only indicates it is a V8 car...Trans Am or Formula....All the alpha numeric codes on the label will tell you everything from the kind of seats to wheel and tire combos to the sound system and everything in between....

WS-9 means "Formula" - saying it is a Formula and a WS-9 is redundant because they mean the same thing. WS-9 technically indicates a V8 Firebird because even the Trans Am will have the WS-9 code but will also have the Y82 (Trans Am) code. So a WS-9 with Y82 is a Trans Am while a WS-9 without the Y82 is a Formula.
The body panel materials (BTW, the fenders are plastic not fiberglass) are the same across all models except for hoods... the flat hoods are metal while the ram air hoods (WS-6 and SS) are composite. These were not option choices (again with the exception of the hood).
There is an option code label on the left door jamb. It lists a bunch of three character codes indicating the options on your vehicle. There's a list of most of them here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/1740895-post17.html

This is correct. But, to complete the information above, there is also a Formula specific code - W66. So a Formula would have WS9 and W66, while a Trans Am would have WS9 and Y82.

If EGR has been deleted from yours, then it has been modified. So it may or may not have more horsepower than stock depending on what other modifications may have been done.
FWIW, various factory ratings notwithstanding, all LS1 engines make about 345-350hp stock, same as the C5. The engine differences in various model years don't account for more than a ~5-10hp difference at most. Some models (SS, Firehawk) were available with optional (or standard in the case of Firehawk) items (dual/dual exhaust, Blackwing lid), depending on year, that would boost horsepower by a small amount more. But these items are bolt-ons which could be added to any LS1 F-body and would be worth the same gains (no actual engine difference for those higher trim levels).
