Hey guys, I love going through this forum looking for good information. I joined the LS world almost 2 years ago when I purchased my C6Z and never started posting here until recently when I purchased my 2002 Trans Am Firehawk.
I picked this car up to DD and to have some fun with. She is an auto (4L60e of course) and still factory LS1. Mods are a clear lid and BBK mid-length headers so far! She is in rough shape, clear peeling off the rear bumper and front fenders, along with a WS6 hood in Black. Owner before the PO kept the Firehawk hood and who knows what else. I am currently changing fluids and checking over the car to bring her back up to par.
This was an FB Marketplace find and was dirt cheap, also 106k miles to boot. I brought her home and changed oil and had to replace 5 studs on the front 2 hubs and I still have to replace one rear.
Plans when I get to it:
New diff fluid
New trans fluid
New intake gaskets
When the intake is off replace anything needing to be replaced

The car will be sort of a sleeper, I will retain stock cam/heads and do some cheap mods. I have HP Tuners and a buddy is going to teach me some basics to learn to tune with this car. She has surprised me dig racing as she comes out of the hole hard, currently 5 and 0 from a dig (1/8th mile no prep).
Ultimately I am here to learn and have a fun DD build thread!
It's definitely possible to get it into the 11s with a stock motor, swap the gears to some 3.73s and get a 4000ish stall, ditch the mid length headers for some long tubes and a Y pipe with a good merge and a cutout (if you want it to sound relatively stock) and tune it.
