Air filter question Wasn't sure where to put this, so since its for a 98 T/A, I will try it here. Long while back, I put a Suncoast Creations Ram Air hood on my 98. It came with an air box kit, which had a K&N air filter 33-2035. The measurements on this filter are 17.56inLx10.63inWx1.06inH. I have started to look for a paper style replacement, being a little worried about the filter oil gunking things up. I did clean the MAF and throttle body when I got it out of storage. I have tried two ACDelco pieces, A1097C and A1097CF, but discovered that they are about a half an inch taller than the K&N. Looking at part numbers for the mentioned K&N and the Delco units, they seem to have the same cars listed, such as a 97 Trans Am WS6 and a 96 Corvette, even though there is a difference in the height. The taller one will not fit under the lid on my Suncoast airbox. Searching for other brands for these cars, only thing I have found at filters that measure around 1.5inH. Don't know if I am missing something here, just seemed odd to me with the height difference. Anyone dealt with similar issues, or have any advice on what to look for?
