rich or lean?

rich or lean? i currently have a trans am ws6 with header install, custom y pipe , and LM exhaust. just wondering how i can tell if im running lean or rich, and what are the end results of each one as far as damaging to the engine...gains...etc any piece of information as far as that is really appreciated. any other questions just ask related to my question thanx

well my car seems to be running fine, but whenever i start up, i could hear popping noises (rarely happens) and i can smell fuel from inside my car (dunno if that means ne thing) and i really dunno waht else to say but what other things yall need to know?
