Default piston slap?

well i took my t/a into the dealer to get my pinion seal and a window motor replaced and they are taking care of that. this is my first time to this particular dealer and they seem to be real nice and willing to help. since they seem to have a good attitude i think i am going to try my luck with the piston slap issue. my t/a does not eat any oil and pulls like a beast so i am also a little hesitant to do this, but the tap, tap, tap, is really annoying, even my buddy who is a hard core import lover is giving me ****(10 minutes later we were on the highway and he was'nt laughing anymore sqinting at my tail lights ). the taping is not there when it first starts up, but once it settles into an idle i can hear it pretty good. once i start diving it goes away, even when i stop and listen to it idle its gone, but if i shut the car off and let it cool down a little and then start it, i can hear it again. i dont think its the air pump and i can hear it from the bottom of the engine when i crawl underneath. what do you guys think, p/s or something else?

thanks
