Default Headlight Noise

Need help with my headlights. The problem is when I turn off my headlights there is a loud banging noise from the driver side headlight goes down, but there is no noise on the way up. It doesn't appear as if the headlight is physically hitting anything. My car is a 2002 ws6. thanks

sounds like you have a striped gear. you can flip it over 180 degrees and get more life out of it or get brass gears to end the problem all together.

My '00 has done that since I picked it up new in December '99. Nothing has broken or stopped working yet. If you can't find a stripped gear, then it's probably nothing to worry about.
