Question Headlamp problem

I have read the other headlamp problem forums and I have a slightly different problem....I was hoping that someone has heard of this before....When I either turn on my parking lights, or set my alarm my headlamps pop up and down then start making the jack hammer noise...Normally the headlights dont pop up until you turn the switch to the headlamp position...I am going to take a look at the gears and try putting in new gears. If anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful......Thanks Jason

When I set my alarm my lights did the same. I think it may just be your gears but I'm not sure. I replaced the crappy gears with the brass ones and it worked out just fine.

There was a thread a few weeks ago from someone with this problem, and people said it's an odd side-effect of the gears having worn out

Don't have the thread handy, can probably find it if you want.

I would check the gears for sure. Most of the ones that I have seen in other cars start popping and grinding righ tbefore they die off.

Here is the stickie at the top of this section:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-firebird-1967-2002/177470-firebird-headlights-all-comments-questions-regarding-headlights-go-here.html

I searched for "headlight noise" and this was the second link:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...eadlight+noise
(That person had the same issue.)
(There were plenty more links.)

Yep its the gear in the one headlight. I've had it twice now with this car. You should get the brass one that Brent Franker sells....thats what I did. Its in the link that someone gave there for the install guide.
