Yeah I would recommend that too....my friends are 18 and 19 and already have 450+ hp cars and they are nuts....you can do some serious $hit (and dangerous) I might add. 13s is already plenty fast for me. Even going 100 is exciting enough for me. I already had one of my friends tell me not to go 150 until I get used to going a little slower than that because I haven't had the experience of going fast and all that stuff.

Learn to walk before you run dude, 11's is fast.
I understand. Yes, I know what 13's feel like and love em.. 12's would be my goal in the 1st year or two of owning it... then after that 11's will be my goal 5 years later.. I doubt i'll be in low 13's before I get comfortable with my new car - boltons will probably start 4-8 months after i get it... but untill then, I have to find one that's right for me... then the money pit begins.

Hey, shoot me the VIN and I'll see what info I can dig up for you. I have access to some good databases!

Thank you very much! Heh... looking at multiple TA's right now (naturally, since they're all used and could be beaten up + they're all from non-GM dealers). I just wish I could find a couple certified used ones... o well. If you don't wanna look up multiple VIN's I'll post them in the order I'm thinking of form best to worst. Thank you!

1, 2, and 5 are clear with no record. 3 was totalled by insurance. 4 had damage to the right front.

Hope it helps

Six speeds are fun. I love mine. A4's are alot more fun on the track/street though. I've owned both, and I prefer the A4, until I open up on the M6.

I plan on doing this if the dealership will allow me to... and the cars I'm looking at the hardest right now are a 2000 WS-6 with 58.5k miles and a 1999 WS-6 with 69.4k miles... planning on doing a lot of work to the internals anyways (about $3k) after I get done with intake/exhaust. The one I'd rather get (if it runs well and I get it checked out is the M6 (the '99)) all the 01s and 02s are $20k+ within 500 miles of where i live

Default Mileage

Are these things worth $14.5k and in good condition with LOTS of mileage on em? I'm talking just short of 70,000 miles. If it checks out, would I still be able to get the full life out of it with mods? I'm kinda worried other stuff will start crappin out after I mod it a little and I'll have to spend my money replacing instead of soupin up.

Also, can anyone tell me anything about the BG Ram Air kit? I was looking at it and wondering whether or not it's better than a Flow Pack (such as the one SLP offers)?

What year?

$14,500 seems a little high for a car with 70,000 miles.

Really the only things you have to worry about crappin out on you are the power window motors, and headlight motors (and/or gears for them).
Those are really the only problems Ive ever heard of with F-bodies. I have already had to replace my driver side power window motor (only $50 for motor, and about 2-3 hours of install time if you do it yourself).

haha my dad had the same problem with his 95 Camaro - he put over 200k miles on it... but it was a V6 and he never did anything with it - I'm just afraid the 400+ HP I'll eventually be putting to the wheels will wear out some of the drivetrain components.

Hey I am 18 and just got my Formula about a month and a half ago, I used to drive a FWD 120ish HP 1988 Olds Cutlass Ciera a real POS more than doubling your HP and going to RWD if your not used to it is real scary for me thank god for the TCS or I would have gotten myself in some trouble already. I think I'm a good driver I just don't know how to drive RWD yet and not used to 300+ HP Don't get me wrong I LOVE MY CAR but like someone else said walk before you run on the 11's learn how to not wreck it first. Also on the WS6 thing I believe all WS6s come with the 3.23s instead of the standard 2.72s the 3.23s are optional on non WS-6s (I believe ?) so you get a little more oomph with the WS6 but probably also less MPG either way good luck

thanks. I'm currently driving an 02 TrailBlazer with 270 HP.. I can blow away ricers at will but yah... I've been drivin in 11 second cars before (twice) and yes, I agree it can get scary when they mash the accelerator. I'm planning on gettin real used to my car before i even take it down to the strip - then i'm not really aiming for anything below 13's... mid 13's would be satisfying for my 1st time down the strip. - i fnot o well.

With 400+hp you will probably want to replace your rear end with a 12 bolt or something (stock ones are 10 bolts, and from what I hear, are pretty weak).
Maybe a better clutch too(assuming its a manual), but thats probably about it.

Sweet... sounds about right... ~$1,500 in replacements... (and I think I want a manual even though I do all my driving in LA/LV traffic... I won't regret it on the open road with the torque pinning me in my seat through every gear . I was wondering - Would it be such a bad idea to just hold off on mods and JUST get an STS Turbo Kit and supporting mods? How much HP should I expect with ~5.5lbs. of boost?

The manual really isnt that bad to drive in traffic, the thing has so much torque its hard to kill.

According to STS's site (http://www.ststurbo.com/ls1_camaro_dyno) with just 5 psi of boost the stock LS1 put down 414hp/450ft.lbs!
You will have to be careful on bumpy roads, I cant really tell how much clearance the turbo gives you.
