Ignorant Question alright...
still havnt goten a chance to find out EXACTLY what i have
but i have an 89 firebird with a 305
according to a car club place i've been reading it should be TPI right?
well i KNOW it has a TB b/c i've looked at that already
whats the main differences between TPI and TBI
and whats the difference between my intake system b/c of that
sorry for the ignorance... if it were up to me id have a 350 with 4 bolt main 4" highrise intake with a quadjrajet :-p

TPI engines have very noticeable intake runners, as the TBI engines dont.. Post a pic, and anyone could tell you this in a second. TPI engines are better Stock vs Stock, as they do have better throttle response, and a little more HP. (not sure on specifics here), but i've owned a couple TPI Iroc Camaros. (85,87) They are fun to drive, I love the late 80s body styles!

Check out www.thirdgen.org for some more info but, if you posted a picture we could tell you pretty easily. Here is a pic of a TPI intake (actually off a 350 but they look the same) TPI intake

For lack of a better description... TBI basically looks like a carb with two injectors shoved into it. I've got a '91 with the L03 and a T5. I don't exactly see why the car club place says your car should be TPI...
