Default can not decide

Which shoud I build a 01-02 t/a, or a 91-92 t/a. If I build the 91-92 I will swap in an LS1 6 speed, If I get the 01-02 I will do all kinds of mods to inclued a turbo or super charger. I will need to buy one of the two, so I cant just build what I have. Do I spend the money on the older body with the swaped motor, or do I spend money on the mods for the newer body. I have secretly always loved the 3rd gens. (Damm Knight Rider). But I also love the 4th gens I allready have a 4th gen , so maby the 3rd gen? I need help both will be costly which way should I go?

i'd go for a 4th gen, for the simple fact that if you do a 3rd gen with an ls1 most of the parts are going to be custom, which aside from being a pain, will probably cost more money. if you're definitely modding an ls1 with a t56, you might as well use a car that was designed for it.

Actually anymore the LSx swap into a 3rd gen is pretty much a bolt in, (yes it's a little more complex, but anymore not alot) with the availability of the motor/trans mounts, wire harnesses/pcm tuning, the only thing that's a real PITA is the exhaust, and the gauges, and you have a choice of using either the custom headers from a non sponsor, or the stock manifolds, then fabbing the rest (depending on if you want duals or a stock 3rd gen exhaust) the gauges you can use autometers in a custom configuration, or adapters/translators for the stock ones.
It comes down to what body style you like better, and what condition the choices are.
IMO since you have a 4th gen do the 3rd, nothing more fun than some unsuspecting opponent thinking that slow azzed 3rd gen is an easy kill, then tearing him a new one

while it is a dumb name, perhaps it's a sarcastic one since he has a Firehawk listed in his sig?

Let me start by saying I like firehawks, I thout the name was funny my bad. I was going to use "firehawks are gay" but I did not want any trouble. I think I mite want to make a 92 firehawk clone. I know it wont be real, but it will be a sweet sleeper. I hope know one is to pissed off at my name?

Honestly, even though I know it's a joke, I HATE that user name.

If it was me I'd like to have a '77- '78 Bandit clone T/A with the LSx/T56.

A buddy of mine is knee deep in the swap right now. It's going to be one cherry f#ckin' ride when he's done.

turd gens are my least favorite 'birds. I'd rather pay for a v-6 mustang than a turd gen. I know, let the flaming begin. 2nd or 4th gen rules!

dude get the 3rd gen.

it would be so much more badazz and a sleeper... plus the body for the newer T/A would be more expensive and on the 3rd gen...when u go with the ls1... you can do all of your engine mods while its on the engine crane. Plus while all that ***** out you can do w/e you want to the suspension and what not.

Get the 3rd gen. Cheaper and would be a kick *** project. I would love to see a 92 Firehawk clone with an LS1. Good luck with whatever route you go.

If you want a sleeper, buy a 4th gen firebird and do the LS1/t56 swap with that. Then sell the motor/trans from the bird and use the moey for mods

Do the third gen for sure. I may be a lil biased but in my opinion a fast third gen is sweeter than a fast 4th gen. Also, an otherwise stock 3rd gen with a stock ls1 is faster than a stock 4th gen, they're a couple hundred pounds lighter if I remember correctly.

I can't really go into all he has done to the car, you can see in the pics most o fthem, but it is one awesome car. It pullls just awesome.

these are pics i grabbed at the Fbody gathering.
If you want more info contact Bruce at hawks third gen parts.
