Default '95 Formula vs. '01 GT

Just wondering who would win from a dead stop? Any guesses on quarter mile times?

'95 Formula A4 3.23's, CAI, long tube headers, off-road Y-pipe, catback, LT4 KM, 160 thermostat, PCMforless tuning.

'01 Mustang GT A4 with 3.73's, CAI, underdrive pulleys, shorty headers, off-road h-pipe, catback, hand held programmer tuning.

What is the LT4 KM? I don't think the LT1 would have a problem with that 4.6. All things being equal, I would bet on the Formula. With a good driver I don't think you'll have a problem.

the LT4 KM is the knock module used in LT4 vettes. I have it because it prevents false knock from the car being so loud. I dunno if it gives u any power which it probaly doesnt but atleast it insures you dont lose any from false knock.

Definitely Formula. LT1's have the low-end torque the Ford is lacking. Also, the auto tranny's in these cars perform better than Ford's auto tranny. I don't know if Ford improved them, but I remember Ford's tranny being slow to respond to the driver, and don't shift as crisp as GM.

Ahhh, yea the the knock module doesn't give anymore power but like you said doesn't take any away either. I had an LT1 for 2 years and dusted off plenty newer Mustangs that had bolt-on's or were slightly modded. The engine is just too small for much TQ and like everyone else said they just don't shift as quickly as the 4L60E does. I beat my fair share of 5.0's and 4.6's. The LT1's do produce very good TQ so I don't think you'll have a problem at all. Good luck and post some results when you do beat him .
