78 bird what would you guys pay for a 78 firebird that looks to be rust free and in good condition not sure the miles but it is an auto and red cloth. Any input would be appreciated. I am going to go look at it tommorow more closely and see what is all there

If it's a nice driver with decent paint I'd pay 5.?k
Going past 7k is stretching it unless the drivetrain was recently rebuilt or the paint isn't really nice. If it's totally restored it shouldn't cost more than the 14k range.

What kind of engine......is it a formula or base firebird? Straight six, 350, 400? Miles are an issue, as is the overal condition. Has anything been done to it.....is it bone stock or played with? Is the paint original? I bought my 78 Trans Am, 400/4spd, deluxe inteior/exterior, for $5750 back in 1999. New paint and exhaust, MSD, 3.73 rear, mild motor bolt ons, and that's with every quater needing some work, including a patch panel in the right rear. Today, I think I could get 8-10K, as someone told me. Late second gen. cars are finally gaining value. If you're going tomorrow, get a good look at every quarter panel, especially the underside. They came from the factory with rust. If it's orginally from your home state of Wyoming, I can imagine it's seen alot of snow and salt. See if it's ever been hit, any repaint, engine work, etc, the usual. Post again or PM me and let us know how it looks.

well I didn't get to see it again today (stupid military) but I am sure it is the base bird not sure about the rust and still working on getting the miles it looks good and are only asking 2k so I think probably high miles or something.
I tried to call on it today but no one answered. It is not in Wyoming I am currently in WA state and found it in a little side of the road lot. red cloth and the factory stereo pretty clean interior I will get the vin the next time I look at it and do the looking and post what I find I would love to get it and have a mate for my 78 but I just got a new GA as a daily ride so I am torn now get another car that will just sit or fix the daily up a little and have a decent rice runner...decisions, decisions

2 grand is cheap.....meaning it's probably just a straight six, or maybe the Espirit with a 305. As long as it's not a rot bucket and runs/drives good, you can't go wrong with 2K. Although, if you want to make it anything more then a daily driver, you're going to have to do alot of work, ie: engine/trans swap, etc. But it's a good starting point if you want to street rod it.

I Called and got a hold of the guy and it needs some work but has some performance parts like shocks and it has the 305 and is the espirit but I didn't get the vin so I think I will just pass on it and fix mine up but if anyone is interested pm me and I will pass the info
