I had an 86 Camaro V6 5-speed that got 27-30 mpg on the highway if I took it easy but only 22-24 mpg in the city. I sold it six years ago with over 150K on it and the guy who bought it is still driving it.

I had an '86 V6 bird and a '92 V6 bird years back, I got around 28mpg w/ the '92 and about 25 with the '86 but I've seen LS1's get that same kind of mileage so it's not really that much of a gas saver. Although it would save wear and tear on your T/A and those 6 bangers are tanks the '86 had 206,000 on it when I sold it and the '92 had over 150,000.
