an idea on headlights
i was thinking of going to the junk yard and looking for a grand prix or grand am and cut off the head light connections and then go to the store and get the blue bolbs or the super with one that fit. then go home and cut holes on the stock head lights and put the new bulbs in with some silacone. i will take the new connections and wire them in place and hook it all up!! will this work??
or is it dumb idea?????
thanks
mike

You'll see a link to what you are talking about.
The write-up there is for a 1998-2002 Firebird.
I just did it two weeks ago. H7 bulbs retrofitted into H4703 housings. Its definately an improvement. I did it a little differently though. Instead of cutting/splicing the stock wiring, I cut down the spades of the H7 bulbs to match the shape/pattern of the stock H4703 and cut off the small protruding plastic nib in the middle of the stock plastic connector so that the new bulbs plug in like the stock ones. I also used the copper colored silicone to seal it up (a suggestion from a fellow LS1Tech member).

I should have (especially the part about cutting the h7 bulb's spades instead of cutting/splicing the factory wiring).
