Default Help

i own a 98 T/A and plan on doing pacesetter LT's and a cat back system possibly a cut out instead. was looking into doig h/c but don't have the money to upgrade the stock a4 transmission along with it was wondering if getting ls6 or ls7 heads would free up any power worth buying without doing the cam swap also ....

Do you basic things first.

1. Lid
2. Catback
3. Headers/cutout
4. Stall converter

I would definitely do a converter before H/C. For an auto that is one of the biggest "Bang for the bucks." Around ~3200 oughta help you out immensely.

As for the heads and cam, usually most people will do a cam first. You can run a cam with a little over .600 life on each side and be fine with stock heads and make GOBS of power. I'm planning on cammin' out and being on stock heads for while. Putting heads on a stock cam almost seems like putting the cart in front of the horse IMO.

99% agreed.. if you decide on a cam with a lift of .600+ you'll need a 3500+ stall or bigger..
