Can someone tell me wat a 97 Ws6 trans am's hp is stock.. and what does it do in the 1/4..

also..somone told me that the ls1 has much more power.. i know it says online it has 345 hp stock but that cant be true..it says the lt1 has 285.. im just curious where the lt1 stands.. also how badly can the lt1 beat a mustang gt..

 

well it is rated at 305 HP. But that number is somewhat over rated. It was a part of marketing on Pontiacs part. IT probably only makes around 285-290 to the crank and about 235-245 HP to the rear wheels. But the torque is around 315 to the crank and about 250-275 to the rear wheels. The car is fast for sure but not quite as fast as the LS1 as it is a newer motor, with better technology. But as far as beating a mustang GT it can take it stock eaisly if you can drive better then the mustang driver. But when you start adding mods into the equasion it all goes out the window.

 

My L98 350 took mustang GTs no problem, I'd sure hope a LT1 could
