Default MPFI question

i have an 87 firebird with the 2.8L v6 mpfi engine on it and was thinking of switching it out for a chevy small block 350 but i wasnt sure how to go from fuel injected to carb. if i had to take anything out or put anything in and so on....

The best idea would be to get the fuel sender and pump from a TBI car and then get a fuel pressure regulator to kick it down from the 14psi to the 5-7psi the carb runs.

well i was replacing the entire engine. i am getting rid of the fuelinjected completly and was wondering more if i had to do anything with the computers and such or if its ok to go as it is.

It all depends on if the speedo is sensor or cable driven I think.

Default engine swap

i have an 87 firebird with a 2.8v6 mpfi engine and was going to swap it with a chevy 350 ho... can i just swap it or is there going to be a problem with the computers?

You are going to probally need new K member, computer, trans, fuel system, cooling system. Its not as easy as it sounds....

You'd be better off finding a V8 car to start with and throw your 350 in that....305 cars from the third-gen era can easily be changed over to 350 engines.

i dont have a 350 yet i want to get one insted of the v6 that i have. and was wondering what i had to do to change it over from mpfi to carb.

if youre going from multi port FI to a carb, you wont need a computer. its been done before, but it would be alot easier to find any kind of V8 3rd gen and put a 350 in it, regardless of the orginal motor. swap your parts over to the new donor car if you have to.
