Default broke a bolt, need help on extracting it...

I was swapping my transmission mount, and the bolt that holds the actual mount to the tranny snapped off real easy. I have no idea what the hell was up with that. Anyways, can anyone give me some advice on how to remove it? I searched around, and it seems that everyone had different suggestions. I know I will probably need an easy out, but can anyone assist me beyond that? Thanks again folks.

what do you need beyond an easy out if you know what that is and how to use it? carefully drill a hole in the remainder of the bolt and hope ur easy out and t handle give you enough torque to get it out. use some penetrant to help loosen it if its in there good...cross ur fingers.

1- you can weld a bolt to the broken one this will save lots of time.
2-easy out don’t work drill the broken bolt just enough for a tab witch is the same size as the original or use a h.coil insert if the tab don’t work.
Be Careful not to break the easy out or the tab.

Try cobalt drill bits and make sure that the first hole you drill is perfectly centered. If you have a complete set of bits it will make it easier. Start with the smallest size and progress to the size of the bolt. If you don't go one at a time and try to drill only once using a large drill bit, you will probably burn up the bit and it will take forever.

heli coils are nice.
good luck

This is likely to be more trouble, but you can use a Dremel with the cutoff wheel to grind a slot in the end of the bolt. Then use a flat screwdriver to back it out.
