Engine rebuild Hello,
My brother got 1989 Pontiac Firebird with 5.0 liter 305 engine (not original swapped with four barrel carburetor). Engine needs rebuild because of faulty oil pump and same coolant came to oil ( bad gasket). Some how I got involved in rebuilding process. So now I need new oil pump, which should I pick standard or high volume or pressure. Further more I need main caps, main bearings second (0.02) size, rod (undersized 0.01) bearings, cam bearings, head gaskets. So my question is from where to buy, which manufacturer to choose? I am interesting in this because, these cars are rare in my country, parts are hard to find. So I need these parts to order from USA, and don't want to get a crap. Block has two bolt main caps, for this engine better be four bolt main caps or not.
