I assume you have red LEDs then? That'd be illegal in the US not to have them be red.

I can see that being the best way to tint them, would help keep them dark looking but let more light through.

actually... you only need Red reflectors & bulbs, and the lenses can be clear.

the clear LT1 lights still have red reflectors.. so they could be black, clear whatever.

check out a lexus RX350

It might vary state to state then. I'm 99% sure you can't have clear tail lights with out red brake lights in Minnesota. Side markers are the same, must be yellow, can be clear I believe, but gotta be yellow in color. I know that last bit because my friend had in blue ones and got cited. I also know that the bumper hight limit is 24" (Under 1-ton, agricultural reasons), because my last truck was 25.5" >_> I got a ticket

that's all you need. the bulb needs to be red... so does the reflector. the lense can be any color.

as previously mentioned.... look at the lexus RX, the new RangeRover, even the 3rd gen t/a with black tail lamps.

We misunderstood each other then, no biggy. I wasn't referring to the lense being clear as being illegal, I was referring to the fact that a clear bulb behind a clear lense would yield one not-red brake light

Snowman knew what I meant.

Player87 is the one who is from Germany, the original poster (FIREBIRD2000) never mentioned anything about living outside the USA. All he mentioned was that he has mirror tint, and wants to add altezza's, HID's, and chrome wheels...

I would go with a factory replacement muffler and keep clear tail lights away from the Firebird. ...along with the LED washer nozzles, tireflyz, and chrome windshield wipers.

Hi HoLLo.
Sorry you have to wait for FIREBIRD2000, because my clear taillights are at the paint shop.
Im going to let them tint in red and black from the inside.
I will post pics when ready.
Sorry again. I have no old pics of the taillights on.
But its hard to see anything when the sun is shining. Also LEDs dont work better.
But I think on Friday or saturday i can make some pics of my new taillights.
