Default Engine Mounts

Not sure where else to put this one. Me and a friend are swapping a v6 to a v8 in a '84 firebird. He couldnt get the old engine mounts off, so he came up with a plan. He's going to heat the bolts up then use an air chisle (sp) to knock off the tops. Once thats done he plans to just weld (aka, have someone else weld) the new mounts in place. Opinions? i think there is a better way to do it.

Thanks.

you do realize there are nuts on the bottom side of those bolts and you have to reach up inside the k member to hold them right?

I dont know about the 3rd gens but I know for sure (cause I did it) with the 4th gens you CAN NOT just change motor mounts, you have to swap to a V8 k member, might want to figure that out before you possible waste time trying to get those bolts out.
