Default Wheel Offset

Hi guys. I have been looking into different wheels for my GTO and have found a style that I really like, but I'm not 100% sure they will work. The wheels I am looking at are the BMW 285's. The stock wheel offset for the GTO wheel is +48 The BMW wheel is 17x8 with a +34 offset. So if I'm looking at the correctly that will push the wheels out 14mm or roughly a half inch. So I guess my question is would this be functional and not rub, and would pushing the wheels out that extra half in look kinda dumb? Thanks.

Measure and see if that extra .5" will push out out of the front fender. It will probably be about flush withthe rear quarter panel.

I don't really see an issue with it on a 17x8 wheel. Pushing it out a little more should actually give the car a better looking fitment. Only thing to be concerned about is the tire rubbing on the quarter panel when the rear squats. Might be close.

I've got TSW cadwells (not sure of offset) and mine are a little past flush so if it squats hard enough it'll catch the fender. Did it REAL bad when I first put them on there even just with someone simply sitting in the back. I put Pedders drag springs on and it won't do it at all unless I hit a monster pot hole or something.

19x9.5 +45 will work with a fender roll and that pushes the wheel out 21mm, so I believe those will work well as long as you roll/cut the fenders.

Using a wheel offset calculator, a 17x8 +34 wheel sits 1mm further out than a 17x9.5 +54 wheel. Given that I can run that 9.5" wheel with fenders slightly rolled and no rubbing, I would venture to say that the 8" wheel with that low offset will also work.
