Cam sensor help!

Cam sensor help! I am currently wrapping up a iron block swap on my 05 gto, the car idles great and revs perfectly it seems. However I have no cam signal. I have been through all the wiring and everything to the pigtail seems good. I am getting a P340 code. The only issues I am seeing from the code is a high idle. Car has not been driven yet. I am currently running the cam sensor in the valley cover, I used the pinout an was told to just swap the outside wires. However that is not solving anything. Do these sensors run on different voltage and are not compatible? I'm just kind of at a loss. I can't see why else you couldn't use the valley cover sensor vs the timing cover sensor. And for extra info, this engine came out of a running 04 ls1 GTO. Thanks for any help!!!
