Default Steering wheel shake

Hello new to the forum so sorry if this has been posted. I have a 2006 gto with a steering wheel that shakes like it’s out of balance. I’ve had it balanced 4 times between 2 shops and it has persisted. Recently I was looking at my brakes and they seem to have uneven wear on one rotor. Could this be the cause of the steering wheel shaking? If so what could be causing it? Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me insane.

Check the rotors for runout. Sounds like it could be a warped rotor.

I've seen this issue chased for years of LS1 GTO forum. Once you are certain no issue with rims, tires, brakes. Consider a worn gear in the rack and pinion. Yes, I've seen it happen.

Has anyone ever looked at the intermediate steering shaft as the culprit? Every other piece of rubber was basically trashed within the first few years, so why not the isolator on the steering shaft?
