weight reduction thread
#2
I am down to 3630 #s with a half tank of gas so far. I have removed the skid plate, spare tire, lighter exhaust than stock (which is a beefy heavy bunch of pipe), lighter rims, and dry cell battery (saved 20#s). Still a rubenesque lady, but I am working on her Atkins diet...

I did the trunk, also removed the skid plate completly, STB from BMR was 1 pound lighter (heh) lighter rims, lighter exhaust and next is the hood. Here are the numbers I got on the hood via email from pfyc.com
"A stock GTO hood weighs 42lbs, a fiberglass Banshee hood weighs 31lbs,
and a carbon fiber Banshee hood weighs 29lbs."
I'm going with the CF since my Goat is black so that is another 13 lbs! I order mine next week. I think the manifold might be lighter too but other than that it's just a heavy car that needs lots of HP, the torque is there though gobs of it.
