Do you have a check engine light on? From past cars and trucks that I have worked on, this would point me tawards one of the converters on the passenger side of your gto. I belive that Pontiac has a tsb about failed converters setting a missfire trouble code. If you can come up with an infrared digital pyrometer guage, you can test to see the diferance between the converters on the passenger side to the drivers side. Check it out and see what happens.

Heck at 6500 miles, just call 1-800-ROAD-SIDE and let Pontiac come pick the car up for warranty work.

Stainless works headers with highflow cats, and corsa cat back exaust will solve the problem with some added power to boot.

My neighbor Guber Pyle had a bad cat also. Someone shot it last week!
