I have seen in some postings GTOs listed as M6 and Ss M6.
What are the differences between the 2? If any.
Are there any more models?

The 2004 GTO came with the LS1, 5.7-liter V8 (350 hp). 2005 and 2006 models were equipped with the LS2, 6.0-liter V8 (400 hp). The '05 and '06 also recieved upgraded brakes over the 2004. The '05 (actually offered the "flat" hood as a no cost option) and '06 came with the scooped hood and split exhaust outlets. Transmissions were the same for all three years with a 4-speed automatic as standard (shown as 4A) or the optional Tremec 6-speed manual (6M). There were a few interior upgrades added for 2006 such as a door lock button on the center console and lighted steering wheel audio controls. The 2006 tail lights are also different from 2005 and 2006 models.
There was no optional trim levels for any of the '04-'06 GTO's. The sole option in 2004 was the 6-speed automatic. For 2005 and 2006, other than the transmission, the only other option was the 18" wheel and tire package.
Hope this helps!

The 2004 hood (flat) could be orderd on an early 2005. I don't know how many actually have this no cost option, but I'm sure it's extremely low. The 2004 exhaust is a true dual system. GM did not reroute the exhaust after the fuel cell relocation that was required for US crash standards. The Monaro's fuel cell was located under the trunk, which did not allow a split exiting exhaust. In GM's rush to get the GTO to the US, they did not spend time rerouting the exhaust outlets. After the complaints on the "plain" styling of the 2004 model, the two main issues were resolved (hood and exhaust outlets).
