Cool New Project

I have a 1999 Firebird 3.8l daily driver and have just got a good deal on a ls3 motor with 0 miles. Its coming with all the pulleys, but i will have to get a ECM and wiring harnest and all that. i was told that the motor will bolt on to my current trans. is that true? Before i buy the engine i also want to know if it will work with my current firebird?

what kind of trans do you have, Auto or Manual. If manual you have to unless you want the 6th gear.

So i ended up finding a trans am tranny for about $500. I went to look at it with a mechanic and he said its in perfect shape. With only 400 miles its a perfect steal. Thanks for the positive feeds too, do you thnk i need to change the axle too? I know the rear axle will need to be changed just because it will be a strong engine. Some people are saying to get a v8 but i like the challenge and the body of my current bird. Im only 21 so theres no need to involve the Insurance squad.lol
