Default Fuel Cells

Is anyone on here running a fuel cell? I'm probably going to be going to one here soon as I do not think I can run a sump on the factory tank and keep the Mufflex exhaust, and at the same time it would be nice to have a larger fuel tank. Me and a friend have been looking and doing some research and I did find a 'drop in' cell just wondering how everyone is mounting their's or if anyone was using this one from Fuel Safe

http://secure.fuelsafe.net/cgi-bin/fuelsafe/SA114.html

Also if you are using one, what size is it? Pics would be great too!!

Thanks

I once did a cell in a third gen (and took no photos....well...I have a few bad ones). I cut the bottom out of the rear "well" (trunk?) area and removed the stock tank. I then cut the area above the stock tank to fit the front of the cell and built a frame to support the rear that ran to the rear of the car (1/2 was in the floor, the other 1/2 was "framed up and on stilts"). We welded in thin steel as a "floor" on both sides and used 1" steel box all the way around the cell (above the cell, inside the car) and used dzus fastners to hold a plate steel firewall in there...

Damn, I wish I had pics....

I could draw it out...sorta if you need it.

Another option we have used is to use AN bulkhead fittings and aluminum line to build external fuel pump setups on 3rd gens. Then you can get the pickup down in the sump or a corner. It is still not great, but it is better than some ideas we've had....lol.

Well I talked to the guys at Fuel Safe yesterday and they say that the one I posted up only works for the 3rd gens, or at least thats what his catalog says. I didn't think there was any difference in the tanks at least size wise and mounting wize but maybe I'm wrong.

He did say that he can make me anything I want for probably right around 1-1.5k. I found them thru other outlets for 500-800 so maybe I'll just pick up a off the shelf one and build a frame for it there in the back and just cut that well out and use it. The only major issues I had and wanted some pics of was the firewall that needs to be built, the filler neck, and how to run everything and leave the stock routed exhaust (at least for now)

No one makes a cell to fit the 4th gens. I have done alot of research on this and it is going to take a sawzall and a box type cell or something custum made. Custom = $$$$$. I will have to have a 22 gal cell for what I am doing and its looking like a sawzall is in my very near future.
