"Race the Needles"- By Mt. Rushmore!
"Race the Needles"- By Mt. Rushmore! BHSCC (Black Hills Sports Car Club) is currently getting Needles Hwy closed for an open road race. We are taking applications, there are only 50 spots open for this event. Rules and regulations will be held up on our sight. We are working with Custer State Park, South Dakota DOT, and Custer County Chamber of Commerce. We are in the works of getting the web-site up. We should have this up soon.
Location:
The road course is located in Custer, South Dakota at Custer State Park. The course is 7.59 miles long and has over 84 turns. We should have enough time in the day to allow three runs. That's a total of OVER 22 miles of racing fun. If you are interested in attending please email haroldvan@hotmail.com. Please have the subject as "Race the Needles." The teching and rules are very strict, we reserve the right to turn down any racer/car we see not fit for this event.
Costs:400.00 per car/50.00 for Navigator/10.00 for spectator.

When: Saturday, April 25th, 2009 race day. We will do this rain or dry, but NO SNOW. There will be a drivers safety meeting on the 24th of April at Silvan Lake.

I or my crew will contact you to ask further questions. Please be as descriptive as possible. In the case that the event is cancelled your money WILL BE refunded.
I have only on little video of the type of road it is. I am sure you all have questions, but I can tell you this road is one of the best. This video is when it is crappy. It will NOT be sandy, but it could be wet it just depends.
