must not have looked hard enough:

frrax.com
americanironracing.com
camaromustangchallenge.com

go to youtube for any american iron or CMC race, and try to count the number of 3rd gens in them, to get an idea 'if they can be made to handle good.'

Come out to a NASA Midwest event. Stay tuned to this website for the 2010 schedule. http://www.nasamidwest.com/ There will be several events in your area. Several 3rd gen Firebirds in the group.
Also go to the "Midwest Region" section on this page. http://www.nasaforums.com/ Feel free to post questions at this site. You will get alot of help.

Start off with some good brake pads, and some general maintenance (brake fluid, belts, good tires, etc...) and come out for an HPDE event (High Performance Driver Education) class room instruction and in car instructor.
Great group and a great time.
